The Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway, a 262-km long project, is set to be completed by January 2024, according to Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari. The expressway will significantly reduce travel time between the two cities to just two hours. Additionally, Gadkari mentioned that the Surat-Chennai Expressway is being built to shorten the distance between Delhi and Chennai by 300 km. The aim of the government is to reduce logistics costs in India from 14-16% to 9%. Gadkari also emphasized the importance of the automobile sector in India's economic growth.
