Bangladesh's export to India has the potential to grow by 300% if it can capture just 1% of India's total imports, states the International Chamber of Commerce Bangladesh (ICCB). Currently, bilateral trade between the two countries is valued at $11 billion, with Bangladesh's export to India worth only $1.27 billion. The World Bank estimates that implementing a free trade agreement could increase Bangladesh's exports to India by 182%, and improving transport connectivity could result in a 297% increase. However, South Asia remains one of the least integrated regions in terms of trade and intra-regional trade is far below its potential.
