Air India is expanding its presence in the cargo sector to secure a larger market share. Currently, foreign carriers dominate India's cargo market with over 87% share. Air India is focusing on Delhi as a crucial cargo hub and has launched a feeder service to transport bonded cargo to Delhi from different regions of the country. It also plans to expand its bonded truck service from nine routes to 200 routes. Air India has partnered with Envirotainer to handle temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products, using their advanced container technology. This aligns with a broader trend among global airlines to cater to pharmaceutical cargo.
