Air Force Inducts First C-295 Transport Aircraft - NDTV

The Indian Air Force has inducted its first C-295 medium tactical transport aircraft, enhancing its logistics capabilities. The induction ceremony took place at Hindan Air Force Station in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. The aircraft, which will replace the ageing Avro-748 fleet, can transport up to 71 troops or 50 paratroopers and perform various missions including disaster response and maritime patrol duties. The first 16 aircraft will be delivered by Airbus, while the remaining 40 will be manufactured in India by Tata Advanced Systems.
