The Indian government plans to make air-conditioned cabins for truck drivers mandatory, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced. As drivers play a crucial role in India's transport sector, one of the country's most important areas as the fastest-growing large economy in the world, there is a need to address issues regarding working conditions and state of mind. Gadkari also emphasised the need to improve working conditions for drivers and overcome a shortage of drivers by setting up more driving schools.
