Indian Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has stated that India needs to reduce its logistics costs in order to be competitive. Gadkari assured that the logistics costs will be reduced to 9% in the next three years, enabling ease in exports for the automotive industry. Currently, India's logistics costs are between 14-16%, compared to 8-10% in China and 12% in Europe. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had previously launched the National Logistics Policy in 2022 to improve the competitiveness of Indian goods. The Indian logistics industry is expected to grow at a CAGR of 10-12%.
