Ather Energy, an electric scooter manufacturer in India, has experienced a surge in demand, selling about 15,000 units a month compared to just 200 units three years ago. Electric two and three-wheelers are becoming increasingly popular in India, particularly in congested cities like New Delhi and Bangalore, as they are seen as a solution to reduce smog. The Indian government aims to have electric vehicles account for 80% of two- and three-wheeler sales by 2030, but challenges such as pricing and infrastructure improvements remain.
