German shipping company Hapag-Lloyd has received its second 23,600 TEU containership powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Hanwha Ocean. The vessel, named Manila Express, is part of a series of ships that are 400 meters long and 61 meters wide with a capacity of 23,600 TEU. The ship will sail in Hapag-Lloyd's FE3 service and will operate on LNG but have the option to use conventional fuel. The company has ordered a total of 12 new ultra large container vessels from Hanwha Ocean, with the last one expected to be completed by December 2024.
